Hey,
Here’s another lesson exclusive for you as thanks for being a loyal tribe member.
If you’re starting out online and have little or no budget there’s only one serious option for you.
Choose a topic you know well and are passionate about and start a blog.
Monetize through affiliate marketing.
Sure it’s not glamorous, there’s no quick and easy money, and you won’t be rich by the weekend
But it’s easy to get started, low cost, and if you pick a topic you are passionate about you’ve got 100x more chance of success than picking random niches you know nothing about.
I know that setting up mini niche review sites and other online earners seem like they’ll be easier and less work but the reality is they aren’t.
Even niche site legends like Spencer Haws of NichePursuits.com says mini niche review sites are now taking on average 4-6 months to rank and he’s an expert at it…how long is it going to take you?
And they don’t rank easily either.
You need…
- Keyword research tool (You can use Google Keyword Planner [FREE]
- An expired domain with high page rank (PR)
- Links from private blog networks which aren’t cheap
- Lots of content you probably know little about so you’ll have to buy it.
Plus there’s no guarantee these types of sites will ever rank so you might spend 6 months of your life and a few hundred dollars and get nowhere.
Spend 6 months blogging about a topic you know and love and there’s a good chance you’ll already be a mini-authority in your niche and you’ll definitely have traffic and an audience.
Your costs for 6 months blogging can easily be under $50 with Bluehost.
You can write the content yourself even if you suck at writing or have English as a second language.
I know a couple of Vietnamese guys, a blogger who’s dyslexic and another who couldn’t string a sentence together if his life depended on it – all bloggers with huge followings.
People don’t want perfectly written prose. They want content and a blogger they can relate to.
They want REAL people with real experiences to share. They want to feel like they are on the same wave length as you.
You’ll have something to show for all your hard work and time and not be stressing about why Google hasn’t ranked you yet.
You make your money through recommending affiliate products that solve your audiences problems.
Give them value and solve their problems and they will buy.
No need to learn how to game Google, trick people into clicking links or being a flashy salesman.
Just writing about your passions, sharing it with the world, and making money by doing it.
Don’t believe me?
Then why did almost every successful entrepreneur I’ve interviewed including Neil Patel of Quicksprout and Kissmetrics fame, say similar…
So if you’re new or struggling to make money online go blog about something you love and the money will eventually follow (assuming you’re solving problems)
Happy blogging,
